Pullnet's SOAC amplifier allows users to optimise the operation of long distance fibre optical links, avoiding the necessity of repeaters.
Thanks to its "all optical" amplification architecture, longer ranges at higher speeds can be reached, making the best use of the optical fibre infrastructure.
The optical signal is amplified without needing to introduce any electro-optical conversion which, together with the DRS® system, improves the Jitter and Wander characteristics of the optical link.
The DRS® system (All Optical Noise and Distortion Reduction System) allows users to obtain outstanding transmission characteristics, which makes possible to establish long distance links with optimum transmission characteristics. Thanks to its new architecture based upon fully optical components, it is possible to improve its noise figure while reducing the chromatic dispersion; all that without introducing noticeable looses, which results in signal longer ranges.
The optimisation of the DRS® system is implemented by means of the configuration application OLC® (Optical Link Calculation), which can model the fibre link from the line constructive characteristics. By this means, each link offers an optimised operation that guaranties an optimal transmission and a high long-term link reliability, as the OLC® application takes into account the fibre aging process. |
All optical amplification. The SOAC amplifier is implemented using optical am-plification and regeneration systems, therefore not being necessary to include any electro-optical conversion stage.
Absolute transparency. SOAC is transparent to the line codes and to the protocols used by transmission equipment, thanks to which this amplifier can be used in links of any kind: PDH, SDH, Ethernet, etc.
Multi-wavelength. Its transparency and highly dynamic optical characteristics allow to amplify monochromatic and multi-chromatic signals multiplexed in either CWDM or DWDM technologies, being able to combine both of them over the same fibre. |
Compact optical solution. Rack of 19" and 1 RU.
Reliability. Minimising the number of components and simplifying the design by means of including last generation technologies yield in a very high MTBF.
Flexibility. The modular architecture of the SOAC amplifier allows users to adapt it to any amplification requirement, being specially adequate for distances varying from medium ranges of about 80Km, to the longest ranges, above 300Km.
Unified management. Includes advance Management functions based upon standards. |
